you can loosen up for a great Ceilí taking place later in the evening. 
If you've never had a go at any of these activities then now is your chance!
If you'd prefer to simply relax then why not enjoy a spot of shopping at the
Farmers Market stalls while you watch all the activities taking place around you.

2013-05-25: "THE GATHERING" - what are we doing in Inniscarra?
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

The Gathering is the title of a government initiative to encourage emigrants
– or the descendants of emigrants - to return to where they or their ancestors
grew up and participate in assorted 'Welcome Home' events & activities. 
Ideally, the visitors might also spend, spend, spend!  Admittedly, its probably
a bit over-optimistic to hope that The Gathering will lift the country out of the
financial mire in which we are trapped – but at least it offers the possibility
that we might all have a bit of craic making the effort.  Definitely though,
it is something that could provide great long-term spin-offs.

throughout Cork County alone that have registered to participate in The Gathering 2013.
In October 2012, Inniscarra Community Centre formed a sub-committee

Dripsey GAA Set Dancers will host a gala night of song and dance
at the Inniscarra Community Centre on Friday April 20^th, starting at 8pm. 
Proceeds for Marymount Hospice.
Dripsey GAA Set Dancers won both the Muskerry and the Cork County Senior Scór Set Dancing titles
in 2012 for the first time.  This gala night celebrates their great achievement.  Tim Joe Riordan and
Anne provide music on the night.  Several guest performers will showcase their talents with a great
mixture of traditional song and dance.
N.B. Tea and refreshments will be served on the night.
In addition, a raffle for fabulous prizes will be held on the night.
The star prize is a hotel break for two at Ballyroe Heights near Tralee.
Tickets at € 10 p.p. can be bought in advance at local shops in the Dripsey area
and will also be available at the door on the night.

Berrings Macra na Feirme:

Congratulations to Berrings Macra na Feirme
for their many achievements during 2011 and 2012-to-date.

The national final of Macra na Feirme's variety entertainment contest,
the FBD Capers Competition, took place in Cappoquin, Co. Waterford
on Saturday, February 4^th 2012.
Bree Macra, Co. Wexford beat off stiff competition from
six other groups to take home the top award on the night BUT -
Berrings Macra Club achieved second place
followed by Freemount Macra.
Other prizes awarded on the night included
Best Producer:  Tim Mullane, Berrings Macra
Best Act: Soldiers' March by Berrings Macra.
Best Female Performer: Joan Marie Healy, Berrings Macra
Macra’s FBD Capers is a competition designed for clubs wishing
to gain experience in producing & performing a light entertainment variety show,
with performances ranging from singing and dancing to comedy and drama.

On behalf to the Inniscarra Race/Community Walk committee, we would like
to take this opportunity to thank most sincerely all those people who supported
the event. It was a very successful occasion and we were particularly pleased
with the support from the local community who walked the four miles and those
who opted for the shorter walk within the grounds of the community centre.

after the exercise and the craic was mighty as prizes were presented.
